Aerodynamic shape optimization of H-VAWT blade airfoils considering a wide range of angles of attack

چکیده

Abstract The current H-type vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) airfoils are from horizontal or symmetry that designed at one angle of attack (such as α = 6°) rather than different angles attack. As a consequence, it cannot, to certain extent, increase power efficiency. Therefore, an optimal method VAWT blade in ranges is presented. It can be expressed by airfoil integrated function. Then, optimized mathematical model which the objective function average tangential force coefficients established. particle swarm optimization algorithm coupled with RFOIL program introduced optimize profiles high aerodynamic performance. results show new HVAWT-00153 more suitable VAWTs other two and NACA-0015 airfoil. Besides, using computational fluid dynamics technology, superiority over NCAC-0015 reviewed. indicate could exhibit larger torque higher original airfoils. maximum coefficient reach 0.362, increased 8.45% compared one. This study has good guidance how design energy power.
